OGUN GOVERNMENT RECEIVES AWARD ON DIGITAL COMPLIANCE

ABUJA – Efforts of the Ogun State government towards ensuring Information and Communication Technology (ICT) continues to be entrenched in the improvement of the quality of life of the people has again being acknowledged.

This came to the fore as the State received an award, recognising it as the 2nd Runner-up for the “Most Digitally Compliant State” at the 2023 Nigeria Digital Award Dinner, organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), held recebtly at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, FCT.

Receiving the award on behalf of the State government, the Special Adviser, ICT, Dayo Abiodun, attributed the award to the digital initiatives of Governor Dapo Abiodun, towards ensuring that Ogun State was not lagging behind in digitisation.

“This recognition is a testament to the remarkable strides we have made in embracing digital transformation and ensuring compliance with the ever-evolving digital landscape under the guidance of the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun”, he remarked.

He noted that the State government had consistently pushed the boundaries of technology and embraced digital transformation with zeal, the Special Adviser added that the recognition as the 2nd runner-up, represented a validation of the present administration at ensuring that the State and its people were not left out of the Digital Revolution.

Abiodun further disclosed that the State Government had decided to tap into a Federal Government enabled scheme, designed to improve the digital skills of interested individuals.
Tagged 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) training program, the scheme is being organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), to train interested individuals in cyber security, data analysis, web designing and other I.T. skill-sets, key to making individuals relevant in todays world.

According to him, the 3MTT programme was designed by NITDA and adopted by the Ogun State government to train, mentor and find job placements for 3 million youths in 3 years, adding that its teaming youths would be mobilised to massively benefit from the programme.
