Engr. Enikuomehin was widely respected for his unwavering dedication to his profession and his compassionate nature that touched the lives of many. The news of his passing spread quickly, enveloping the town in sorrow. Friends, family, and colleagues poured into the community center to pay their last respects during the wake held at his Itebu-Kunmi residence on Thursday, 25th, 2023.
The atmosphere was filled with a mixture of grief and gratitude for the exceptional individual who will always be remembered for his kindness. On Friday, May 26th, 2023, the burial service took place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Itebu-Kunmi, a place where Otunba Enikuomehin had actively participated. The church was adorned with white lilies and roses, symbolizing purity and love. The pews overflowed with people from all walks of life, coming together to honor a man who had touched their hearts.
Led by the Rt. Reverend Adeyemi Adeniyi, PhD, Bishop of Ilaje Diocese, Reverend A.P. Ojo, the Vicar of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Itebu-Kunmi, conducted the service. The sermon served as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of one’s deeds. It was a time for introspection, urging the congregation to reflect on their own stewardship on Earth and the eventual accountability we all face.

As time passed and seasons changed, the memory of Otunba (Engr.) Benson Olabode Enikuomehin remained a cherished treasure within the hearts of the people of Itebu-Kunmi. He had served as the trusted right-hand man of His Royal Highness Oba (Prof) Aderibigbe Olomola, Ikuhinmi I, the Arapantan of Itebu-Kunmi, Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State.

Otunba (Engr.) Prince Olabode Benson Enikuomehin was born on June 6, 1956, in Itebu-Kunmi, Ilaje Local Government area of Ondo State. He began his educational journey at All Saint Primary School, Onipe Village, Oluyole Local Government, Ibadan, Oyo State. Later, he attended Prospect High School, Abanla via Idi-Ayunre, Oluyole Local Government, Ibadan, from 1968 to 1972.
Continuing his education, he pursued studies at the Ibadan Polytechnic between 1973 and 1975 while also working at NTA, Ikorodu, Lagos State. Subsequently, he gained admission to the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, where he pursued a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and graduated in 1983.
During his university years, Olabode Enikuomehin remained a staff member of NTA, and upon graduating, he was transferred to NTA, Ibadan as the Engineer, Outside Broadcast.
His academic achievements were recognized with scholarships, starting from secondary school through the University of Ife, highlighting his intelligence and academic prowess.
After leaving NTA, Ibadan in 1986, Otunba (Engr.) Prince Enikuomehin ventured into the business world, specializing in Electronics and Technology sales and services. He dedicated himself to this endeavor until his passing on Monday, April 24, 2023, after a prolonged illness.
Otunba (Engr.) Prince Olabode Benson Enikuomehin is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, as well as numerous friends and relatives who will continue to cherish his memory.
