Ogun State governor; Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Tuesday March 5, 2019 reinstated the sacked state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Akeem Ambali.
This was disclosed by the National Chairman of the Union, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, after an exhaustive meeting between the state government and national leaders of NLC, at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
While briefing newsmen the NLC President, disclosed that apart from reinstating Ambali, the governor also agreed to resolve all issues raised regarding workers welfare.
He also revealed that issues affecting staff of the Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu -Ijebu, had been resolved.
Recalls about 28 months ago, precisely, October 31, 2016, Ambali and 14 others were sacked by the state government over alleged misconduct during the 2016 World Teachers Day celebration.
Then, the state government set up a panel of inquiry to investigate them for their individual roles during the celebration.
However, while 15 other labour leaders who were dismissed and suspended were pardoned, Ambali’s case was not revisited.
