Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State

Pandemonium At Ibese-Yewa As People Protests Against Oba-Elect

IBESE-YEWA – People of the ancient town of Ibese-Yewa in Yewa North area of Ogun State, SouthWest, Nigeria in the early morning of Wednesday, July 27, 2022 trooped to the streets to protest against government decision on the appointment of Prince Oluwaseyi Rotimi Mulero of Olokojobi Ruling House as an Oba-elect for the town.

According to a release e-signed and made available to the media on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Abeokuta by Mr. Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the decision for the approval was taken during the State Executive Committee meeting held in the evening of Monday, July 25, 2022.

Ibese-Yewa, which is situated in Yewa North area of Ogun State, SouthWest, Nigeria has not known peace for some hours over the approval of Prince Rotimi Mulero as an Aboro-elect for Ibese-Yewa by the Ogun State Government.

According to Prince Akeem Idowu, a prominent son of the Olokojobi Ruling House of Ibese-Yewa, who also contested for the stool, but withdrew from the race, stated that his brother – Prince Azeez Adedimeji Idowu from Olokojobi family was the candidate presented to the Ibese King Makers and was unanimously approved and accepted by people of the town,

The residents who spoke with our reporter were explicit in their choice of Prince Azeez Adedimeji Idowu who they said emerged as the authentic candidate from Olokojobi Ruling House.

The residents stated that Prince Azeez Adedimeji Idowu is a 1st-direct-son (Male) of Olokojobi Ruling House which according to the Ogun State Obas and Chieftaincy Law is sacrosanct.

It would be recalled in a video interview made available to our reporter, Prince Rotimi Oluwaseyi Mulero, who the Ogun State Government approved for the esteemed throne, without mincing words in the presence of the Regents, stated that he is from the 4th (Female) Generation of Olokojobi family.

Prince Mulero disclosed that Omiyale, the first great-granddaughter of Olokojobi gave birth to his grandmother, who gave birth to Pa Isaac Mulero of blessed memory.

Meanwhile, StarTrend Int’l magazine reliably gathered that there is a subsisting injunction which stipulates that both parties should maintain the status quo.

StarTrend Int’l also scooped that the late monarch of the town, Oba Joel Bamgbose was from Alangbo Ruling House, a fact which mandated the Regents of Ibese-Yewa to fill the vacant stool with a bonafide Prince from Olokojobi, the second ruling house in the town.

The youths of the town lamented that in spite of a series of protest letters written to Governor Dapo Abiodun and Mr. Talabi, the Ogun SSG, the state government went ahead to appoint someone who the Olokojobi and people of the town didn’t approve of.

According to a stakeholder who prefers anonymity, the State Government can’t afford to serve anything short of justice as the case is still pending in the court.

Attached are some documents made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine to back their protest.
