REVAMPING SPORTING ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOLS’LL CURB SOCIETAL ILLS – OLALEYE

ABEOKUTA – Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun (Dr.) Nurudeen Olaleye, has said that revamping sporting activities, particularly inter-house sport competitions in primary schools will engage learners positively and curb societal ills.

According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Dolapo Jinad, Press Officer, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, the Chairman stated this while addressing spectators at the annual inter-house sports of U.B.E Model Nursery and Primary School, Abiola-Way, Abeokuta.

Olaleye who was the Chairman at the event, attributed lack of parental care as one of the key factors missing in the upbringing of children, adding that inadequate knowledge on how to engage children from their childhood days are also factors responsible for the decay in the society.

He recalled that in the 70s and early 90s, a lot of athletes were discovered through annual inter-house sport events and making their living as professionals from younger age, while many children looked up to them as role models.

“Let me sincerely commend and congratulate the management of this school, Parents and Teachers Association for organising this event. This is one of the major antidotes that can curb societal ills and crime rate among our children’’, Chief Olaleye said.

The OGAMB boss, while appealing to the parents to always give their childrens adequate attentions with proper monitoring that requared and not leave them alone with their teachers only urged teachers to always do their best in order to justify their earnings from government.
