ABEOKUTA – The effort of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun has been rewarded with an award as Governor of the Year 2021 by the Management of StarTrend Int’l magazine & online www.startrendinternational.com.
Abiodun was honoured with StarTrend Gold Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding performance in good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the good people of Ogun State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the State governor in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile said the award would continue to spur his administration to do more in all areas of the state economy.
He thanked Elhadj AbuSatar Hamed, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, StarTrend Int’l magazine on behalf of the governor for the honour bestowed on the governor.
Odusile assured StarTrend boss and other journalists in the state of the government good partnership and thanked them for their constant reportage of Ogun state government activities since its inception.
The former President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) urged journalists to always verify any news item of the government that is not clear to them before they publish them.
Governor Dapo Abiodun was honoured along with others on the occasion of 10th Anniversary Lecture & Awards of StarTrend Int’l magazine which took place on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Excellence Hotel, Ogba, Lagos.
The Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, StarTrend Int’l magazine described Governor Abiodun’s immense contributions to the socioeconomic development of Nigeria and Ogun State in particular through his #BuildingOurFutureTogether agenda since assumption of office, as unparalleled.
AbuSatar Hamed however urged the state governor to also extend the state infrastructure development to Ogun West which is the third leg that the state stands on.
