US-Nigeria Investment Summit Attracts More Business Investors To Nigeria

NEW-YORK, USA – Conveiner of the 2nd edition of US-Nigeria Investment Summit, Mr. Franklin Ekechukwu has described the event as a veritable channel to woo more foreign investment to Nigeria.

Ekechukwu who was the Chairman planning committee of the summit, disclosed this at the summit themed: “Nigeria: the Future of Global Business”, which took place between September 17 and 18, 2021 at Ziegfeld Ballroom, New York, United States of America.

He noted that “the Investment Summit plays a vital role in attracting and facilitating business investment and job creation by raising awareness about the wide range of opportunities and enabling vital direct connections between investors and the Nigeria economy.

“The Investment Summit focuses on Nigeria, the U.S, investment environment, industry trends, and new opportunities.”

Contributing, the Vice Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Mrs. Joyce Halliday, disclosed that the success recorded by the summit had about two hundred US based investors who indicated their interest in establishing businesses in Nigeria which will in turn create jobs and boost the economy.”

She noted that these businesses have Agriculture, Manufacturing, ICT, and Healthcare as key focus areas.

Joyce Halliday said further that with the caliber of topnotch people from Nigeria attending this year summit, it’s obviously true that Nigeria is ready to partner with the American counterparts.

The event was graced by prominent Nigerians which include Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor, Central Bank of Ngeria (CBN), Minister of Trade & Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; Director General, Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Director General, Bureau of Public Enterprise, Alex Oko, Perm Secretary, Ministry of Mines & Steel, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Akinlade,

Others are AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State, Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State, former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Mr Karl Toriola.

Enugu State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Greg Nnaji, and Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Director-General, Enugu SMEs Centre, Arinze Chilo-Offiah, represented the state at the summit.
