Pastor Olaode Enlists Members’ Support To Take RCI To Eldorado

ILARO-YEWA – A call has gone to members of the Recreation Club, Ilaro to always participate in the development process going on at the clubhouse.

Pastor Wale Olaode who is the President of the club stated this in the evening of Friday, June 23, 2021 during the clubs maiden Ileya Fiesta which took place at the clubhouse, Governor’s House Road, Opposite Yewa South Local Government Secretariat, Ilaro, headquarters of Ogun West.

He stated that the idea of Ileya Fiesta was initiated some days back to entertain Muslim members of the club, but was happy and impressed how members of the club key into it and offered their unflinching supports toward its success.

Olaode expressed his happiness and joy over the good job done by the 3man Planning Committee of the event and all that are instrumental to its success, saying the club would also organise similar event for the Christian members of the club come December this year.

His words, “Honestly, I’m very marvelled, but happy on how members of the club responded, positively to my request of financial support for the hosting of the maiden Ileya Fiesta, in spite the very shortest period of notice.

“I thanked those who contributed, both financially and morally to the success of the event. May the good Lord replenish your purses abundantly.”

The RCI President noted that the kind of support members gave the event was impressive and greatly appreciated by him and prayed that God in His infinite mercies continued to bless, guide and protect each member of the club, including their families.

While enumerating what his regime has achieved so far, Pastor Olaode expressed his gratitude to some members of the club who have contributed immensely to the ongoing development in the club.

Olaode disclosed that the ongoing projects in the club include total repainting of the club’s buildings, which according to him was done by the Elders of the club, led by Engr. Idowu Adejumo, the eight rest rooms, carwash, landscaping of the premises and completion of the perennial fencing and gate of the clubhouse.

He however called on other members who are yet to make any contribution to the clubhouse or paid their annual fee to quickly do so, saying the period of payment according to the club’s constitution has expired since the end of April this year.

“Recreation Club, Ilaro is a foremost rendezvous in Yewaland: hence the club must wear modern look to meet up with the likes in other cities in the country, and to achieve this, all hands must be on deck, and join me to take the club to Eldorado”, Olaode posited.

In his opening speech, the Chairman of the 3man Planning Committee for the event, Alhaji Lamidi Elegbede also thanked members of the club that contributed immensely to the success of the event, saying in spite the short notice given for the financial support, members of the club responded positively.

Elegbede noted that his committee had no problem whatsoever in organising the impressive event while he assured members and their guests a rollicking period.

Members of the  3man Planning Committee are Alhaji Lamidi Elegbede (Chairman), Mr. Shola Ojo (Secretary) and Mr. Tajudeen Adeagbo (Member).
