OGUN LG ELECTION: NEWLY SWORN-IN YNLG CHAIRMAN APPLAUDS GOV. ABIODUN’S STRIDES ON SECURITY

AYETORO-YEWA – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been commended over his concerted effort towards the peaceful coordination of Local Government election exercise held last weekend.

According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Lateef Akintunde, Zonal Information Officer, Yewa North Local Government, the newly sworn-in Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi gave the commendation, while speaking with newsmen shortly after he was declared winner of the election by the OGSIEC.

Ogunyomi noted that the peaceful atmosphere and availability of adequate security enabled
Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) to conduct 2021 Local Poll without violence in every part of the State.

He stated that, since no meaningful socio-economic activity can take place in an environment void of security, the election exercise would not have been peaceful and orderly if the Governor had not ensured adequate security across the State.

“I know Governor Abiodun is not taking the issue of security of lives and property with levity. The inauguration of Amotekun coupled with procurement of patrol vehicles, motorcycles, communication gadgets in support of security outfits in Ogun State have helped a lot. All our security agents too have done wonderfully well at ensuring non-violence polls across the State”, Ogunyomi stated.

While acknowledging Local Government as the closest to the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Yewa North local government promised to run all inclusive government and spread dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of the Council area.

Ogunyomi thanked the electorate for trooping out en-mass to exercise their franchise and for the honour reposed in him to serve, vowing not to let them down.
