IMO STATE – Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the former Governor of Imo State, has been reportedly detained by the police.
It was gathered that the Senator representing Orlu Zone at the National Assembly was arrested on Sunday, February 21, 2021 for allegedly breaking into the sealed Spring Palm Apartments and Hotels allegedly owned by his wife, Nkechi Okorocha.
It scooped that Senator Okorocha stormed the estate at the early hours of Sunday with people suspected to be thugs and broke open the gate.
But in swift reaction, it was further learnt that the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri alongside his Youths Affairs counterpart, Eric Uwakwe arrived at the scene and engaged the thugs in a fierce battle.
The former Governor’s security vehicles, according to reports were destroyed and his orderly gruesomely attacked and injured.
Recalled, Imo government recovers multi-billion naira estate allegedly owned by Okorocha’s wife whike Imo Assembly approves renaming Okorocha’s Eastern Palm University after Mbadiwe.
