OHIO Was Founded To Promote Unity, Course Of Oodua Cultural Heritage Among Yorubas – Erelu Amoke

IBADAN – Erelu Bolanle Amoke Kuku, the Founder of Oodua Heritage International Organization (OHIO) and Board Member, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), has enjoined the Oodua descendants to rescue Yoruba culture from going into extinction, calling for a collaborative effort to revive the rich cultural heritage.

While addressing newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Erelu Bolanle stated that, “It is high time the Oodua descendants rose to promote the Yoruba culture and heritage. Neglecting our cultural heritage will not help while other tribes are embracing theirs.”

She further disclosed that OHIO was founded to promote unity and the course of Oodua cultural heritage among the Oodua people worldwide and to serve as a platform that is dedicated to the recovery of it.

Erelu also charged all descendants both at home and the Diaspora to embrace Oodua cultural heritage in terms of dressing, language and food.

She revealed that she has helped young Nigerians in empowerment programmes, with skills acquisition and trainings, saying, “It is quite unfortunate that our culture is derailing, we must revitalize it.”
