IBADAN – Gubernatorial candidate of All Progressive Congess (APC) in the last election in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has disclosed that his loss in the last election was a delay, but not a denial.
He noted that despite his lost in the last election, he believes that it was a blessing in disguised which would makes him a better governor than which he would have be in 2019.
Adelabu while speaking on Monday, September 28, 2020 in Ibadan during the commissioning of Base 1 Bricks Hotel, located along Samonda noted that his interest in the governorship race was still very much rise, and alive, adding that he would reignites his efforts in 2023.
According to him, “The last election has made me more wiser and it has made me to understand the rudiments of progressive politics, so my loss in 2019 was a blessing in disguise.”
He thanked the party members for all their supports before, during and after the last election, calling on them to summoned courage because 2023 election is fast approaching.
Speaking on the significant of the event, Adelabu noted that his projects served as rededication to service to humanity through provisions of employment to the youths.
His words, “The two new projects has employed over 600 indigenes of Oyo State for the liberation and emancipation of been jobless. Not until when one becomes governor of a state or holds political office can make input to the progress of the state.
“Over 90% of my businesses is located in Ibadan, i also had Bayo Adelabu Foundation which catered for all the widows and the less-privileged people in the state and beyond.”
While commissioning the project, the Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, noted that the project will meet the yearnings of jobless youths in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
He said that Adelabu has embarked on people-oriented projects, and this is an indication of providing employment for the youths in Oyo State, Nigeria and African as a whole.
Dignitaries at the event includes the Osun State governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Deputy governor of Lagos state, Dr. Obafemi Hamsat, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Moses Adeyemo, former APC National Chiarman, Chief Bisi Akande, Oyo APC Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi and Hon. Odebunmi Bunvic among a host of others.
