Stop Harassment Of Our Members – CAS Warns TASCE Provost

OMU-IJEBU – The Concerned Academic Staff (CAS) of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State has urged the institution’s Provost, Dr. Lukman Adeola Kiadese to halt an alleged “incessant harassment, assaults and queries given to its members and other staff of the institution.”

CAS also called on the institution Governing Council and the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to prevail on the Provost to sheathe swords and embrace peace without any further delay.

The members staff of the College said that it was particularly upset by the alleged incessant query letters been given to its members, and the intimidation of an innocent staff who were furthering their studies and those being charged to court for the case they knew nothing about.

In a statement by the CAS Chairman, Mr. Ade Balogun, the group further alleged the Governor, the Governing Council of the institution and the Provost for not paying salaries of those charged to court, noting that as far as they are not being guilty of the offence, they need to atleast placed them on half salaries.

Balogun said that “the government and Provost should stop testing their will by punishing the innocent staff of the institution through withholding their salaries and intimidation”, saying that “the Provost was just bent on the molestation of its members because he has been given a second term in office.

“We, members of CAS, hereby demand immediate stoppage of the incessant harassment, querying of our members by the Provost and releasing of those five members’ salaries being charged to court for no reason and the case they knew nothing about, those furthering their studies and many more.

“This continued illegal issuing of different queries, provocation, molestation and ill-treatment being meted out by Provost to members of CAS and treating those who are loyal to him with kid gloves must also stop immediately, as we are all employees under the State government of Nigeria”.

While calling on the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to look into their plight and predicament, Balogun emphasised that the issue of the institution seems beyond the power of the Governing Council.
