Ewekoro LG Boss, Babayemi Bags Red Cross Society Award

ABEOKUTA – The Chaiman Transition Committee, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Olumuyiwa Babayemi has been conferred as Patron, Nigeria Red Cross, Ewekoro Chapter, In appreciation of his humanitarian service to the people.

According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Sallaudeen Busirat, Information Officer, Ewekoro Local Government, Itori, the event held at the local government secretariat, Itori, recently was put together by the Red Cross Society, Ewekoro Chapter, it came up for the purpose of complimenting the efforts of ewekoro local government in social, economic intervention programmes, basically as it relates to human and community development.

In his soeech at the event, Hon. Babayemi appreciated the Nigerian Red Cross Society for their role in alleviating the surface associated with the vulnerable people in the society, and for the rescue operations in both urban and rural areas.

He added that, the group’s activities over the years have engendered co-ordination, cooperation and lasting peace, needed for socio-economic and political emancipation.

Speaking further, the council boss said human capacity improvements are part of many opportunities derivable from the training and skills acquisition programme of the Red Cross Society needed to ensure increase in better living conditions. He thereby, encourage the society to improve their work in the first aid and relief packages of the society.

Earlier, the Duo of Mr. Ogundimu Bayo and Mrs. Bello Damilola as the Chairman and Vice Chairman spoke strongly of the new Patron, In that with the short but limited time and resources has been able to impact on the lives of the people of his local government, Hence the resolve of Red Cross Society to have found him appreciated for the said honour.

The investiture was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Adebowale Abdul – Noheem, Secretary to the local government, Hon. Ojuola Olaniyi and other supervisors, Hon. Ajibade Owolabi- supervisors for medical & Health, Hon. Babatunde Toyin-Supervisor for Community Development & Women Affairs, Representing Acting Holga- Mr. Akinwunmi Babatunde, Director General Services & Administration- Miss. Adeniji Adefunke, Director of Community – Mr. Owosanya Opeoluwa and Representatives of security agencies.
