NAWOJ, POWA Hold Seminar August 12

ABEOKUTA – The Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists (Nawoj) And Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Ogun State Chapters hold One Day Seminar with the theme ”Effective Breastfeeding And Family Planning For A Healthier Society” on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Powa Hall, Eleweran Abeokuta, Ogun State. Starting from 11am.

According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Modupeola Sobukonla (Chairperson) and Orunsolu Aminat Olukemi.(Secretary), resource persons and experts will give lecture and training, while free family planning service and body check will be available for interested participants.

Father of the Day is the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Edward Ajogun, while his wife, who is also the Chairperson of Powa in Ogun State, Mrs Millicient Ajogun is the Chief Host.

According to NAWOJ, the event is based on the need for constant reminder and counselling on importance of exclusive breastfeeding for babies, making the process easy for mothers and promote uptake of family planning.

“NAWOJ and POWA, Ogun State Chapters is to collaborate on counseling mothers and give them access to skilled Breastfeeding and Family Planning Services for a healthier society and to reduce maternal mortality during delivery.

“We believe that together, through commitment and collaboration, we can ensure that every mother in the society is safe while every child has access to proper growth through the different child spacing methods”, the release stated.
