IBADAN – The South West zone of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has urged Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir to pray for an end to Covid-19 pandemic.
This is even as the union stressed the need for Muslims to celebrate this year’s festival in accordance with the laid down rules by the government to avert further spread of the pandemic.
However, the union urged Muslims to demonstrate love, obedience and discipline which are parts of the lessons that Eid-el-kabir teaches Muslims.
The Vice President of the NUJ in the Zone which comprises of Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun and Ekiti State councils, Comrade Cosmas Oni in a Salah message released by the Zonal Secretary, Bamigbola Gbolagunte reminded the governmemt to pay attention to the welfare of the masses as demonstrated by Prophet Mohammed.
The union also charged wealthy individuals to always remember the less privileged in their midst as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammed during his life time.
Also, NUJ Zone B called for an end to all forms of crisis in all parts of the country in the name of religion.
