IPOKIA LG: A 27-year-old man, Hunwi Nutayi has been arrested by operatives of the So-Safe Corps for allegedly raping a 20-year-old lady in a bush at Sekeme/Setoko in Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State.
The Corps Spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf disclosed this in a statement issued and made available to newsmen on Friday, June 26, 2020.
Yusuf said, the rape suspect was arrested on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, after the victim reported the incident to the corps at ijofin Division.
The Corps spokesman noted that the suspected rapist lived at Huda Compound in Idome Area, Idosemo in Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State.
He stated that the rape suspect confessed to the crime and has been handed over to the police at Ipokia Divisional Headquarters for further investigation.
According to Yusuf, the suspected rapist who confessed to the crime during interrogation also explained that the criminal act was reported to have taken place in the bush.
He further stressed that the suspect and the victim had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ipokia Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
