ILE-IFE: Many people are still wondering what the mission of the three individuals who broke into the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi recently is.
According to an eye witness, a Mercedes Benz car driven by a man in his twenties broke into the compound where the house occupied by Oba Ogunwusi was located in his Ile Oodua’s palace in Ile Ife, Osun state.
The driver, together with two other passengers forced their way into the palace after they disobeyed the security men’s order to park at the gate.
The eye witness said, the men with their vehicle broke the first, second and the third gate of the palace before they were stopped.
According to him, the two passengers in the vehicle took to the heels immediately the vehicle was stopped while the driver who was dressed in a long robe was apprehended.
What is still baffling many people is that the suspect was arrested with a fiercely looking dog and what he was doing with the dog.
The dog, it was learnt was shot several times before he died.
A source in the palace who spoke to Nigeriastandardng, said, it took over 20 bullets from the security men before the weird dog was put down.
According to him, at a point, the dog was dodging the bullets shot at it “and it seemed like the dog was never going to die.”
Narrating the incident to Nigeriastandardng, the source said, “It was a very terrible and frightening incident. God give us a divine victory over this attackers, the security men had a long battle with them but at the end God prevailed over them.”
Although, the source refused to reveal the identity of the suspect because of Police investigation, but he said the suspect hailed from Ilesha and is currently cooling off his heels at the state CID custody.
It would be recalled that Oba Ogunwusi has been a subject of sponsored cyber attacks.
The attacks, the source confirmed to Nigeriastandardng were being sponsored by a money bag in Ife town.
The money bag, the source further revealed was one of the contenders of the Ooni Ife stool but failed to secure the throne because he was not qualified.
Meanwhile, a Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Yoruba Young Advocates (YYA) has warned against disrespecting the culture and heritage of Yorubaland by going on Social Media to insult and abuse Yoruba Monarchs.
The National President of the group, Ademola Ajao, in a statement, issued a strong warning to individuals who have been insulting, disrespecting and downgrading Yoruba Monarchs to stop or face the full wraths of the gods of the land.
