Day Ogun Scout Council Invests TESCOM Boss As Council Member (+photos)

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Scout Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Scout Council, has invested the Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle ‘Biodun Sanyaolu, as a Council Member of the association.

Apostle Sanyaolu joined other eminent Council Menbers who are, the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, President, Constomary Court of Appeal, Justice Adebisi Femi-Segun, Justice A. O Jibodu, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola and Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo.

Speaking shortly after his investiture ceremony, held at the Scout Secretariat, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta, Apostle Sanyaolu commended the leadership of the association for its enduring commitment and monumental achievements, particularly in shaping the lives and character of young people.

The newly inducted Council Member acknowledged the contributions of the Council members towards the growth, development and progress of the association, urging them to remain united and speak with one voice in advancing the cause of scouting.

Apostle Sanyaolu described his investiture as an honour and a call to service, pledging his commitment to promoting the ideals of scouting and supporting the association’s vision of nurturing responsible future leaders.

While declaring open a three-day workshop for CUB Scout Leaders in the state, the TESCOM Chairman urged participants to uphold and exemplify the ethics and values of scouting in their daily lives and engagements.

Earlier in his address, the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Mr. Umar Mohammed, represented by the Assistant Chief Commissioner, Dr. Tola Adenekan, lauded the efforts of the Ogun State Scout leadership.

He appealed to Apostle Sanyaolu to facilitate the involvement of principals and teachers in scouting activities for the benefit of schools and learners.

In his opening remarks, the State Scout Commissioner, Pastor Olatunji Akinsanya, expressed appreciation to the State Scout Council for its support, noting that Apostle Sanyaolu’s investiture would further strengthen the association and inspire greater achievements.

The highpoint of the ceremony was a colourful parade display by the State Scout Parade Team.

Other dignitaries who grace the occasion include the Principals-General for Ijebu, Egba and Yewa Divisions, Directors in TESCOM, and executives members in the association.
