LAGOS, NIGERIA – The city of Lagos was adorned with an aura of unparalleled elegance and celebration on a splendid Saturday, July 27, 2024, as Olusegun Olugbemileke Amore, son of Chief Atinsola & Chief (Mrs.) Oluremi Amore, the Bobaseye and Yeye Bobaseye of Ilaro-Yewa, respectively, and former Miss Ayotobi Akala had their traditional wedding.
From the early hours, the street of Classique Event Place, Ikeja, Oregun Lagos, where the event took place, was abuzz with a palpable sense of excitement as guests arrived in their finest attire and state-of-the-art SUV cars.
The air was thick with the fragrance of fresh flowers and the hum of well-dressed attendees, each adding to the vibrant mosaic of the day’s festivities.
The venue, Classique Event Place – a lavishly decorated hall – showcased the epitome of sophistication. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm, enchanting glow over the carefully arranged tables adorned with opulent centerpieces.
The color scheme of gold and ivory created an atmosphere of timeless grandeur, perfectly complementing the significance of the occasion.
As the DJ heralded the couple into the hall one after the other, Olusegun and Ayotobi displayed their dexterity in the dance steps that received loud ovation from the guests.
Radiant with happiness and elegance, Olusegun and Ayotobi stood at the heart of it all as their vows were exchanged amidst a backdrop of resplendent decorations and heartfelt wishes from all corners of the venue.
The traditional Alaga Ijoko, Chief (Mrs.) Bisola Bamidele (BISBAM), who handled the event, also displayed her unparalleled professionalism as she did at the recent Davido & Chioma wedding bash in Lagos. Mrs. Eyitayo Amore-Awe, the Alaga Iduro, equally demonstrated her dexterity in the profession, while the Governor of Professional Alagas in Ogun State, Chief (Mrs.) Nike Akintade, added glamour to the presentation.
The reception that followed was a dazzling affair, complete with an exquisite feast, live entertainment, and heartfelt toasts.
The evening culminated in a spectacular display of fireworks, lighting up the Lagos skyline in a colorful tribute to the newlyweds.
As the final embers faded, it was clear that the wedding of Olusegun and Ayotobi was not merely a union of two individuals, but a grand celebration of love, tradition, and the vibrant cultural spirit of Nigeria.
Among the distinguished guests were traditional rulers, their regal presence adding a layer of cultural richness to the event. They included the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and the Oloke Odan of Oke-Odan, His Royal Highness Oba (Dr.) Oluremi Fsgbenro.
The former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, also graced the gathering with his esteemed presence, as did Prof. Ramon Bello, former VC of the University of Lagos, and Barr. ‘Biyi Otegbeye, the governorship candidate of APM in Ogun State, among a host of other dignitaries from far and near.
Also at the epoch event were Bishop Michael Adebayo Oluwarohunbi, the Bishop of Yewa Diocese and the Dean of Cathedral Church of Christ, Ilaro-Yewa, Ven. Olusola Ladipo-Ajayi.
The celebrated Nollywood star, Yomi Fas-Lanso, added a touch of glamour to the proceedings with his characteristic flair. Media practitioners were on hand, capturing every magical moment of the day.
Their coverage ensured that the splendor of the wedding reached audiences far beyond Lagos, as they meticulously documented the joy, laughter, and ceremonial rites.
Their attendance not only highlighted the wedding’s prominence but also honored the union of the couple.

Other were Chief (Mrs.) Yemisi Oloyo, Iya Ewe of Ilaro-Yewa; Chief Funmilola Oladotun, Otun Baajiki of Ilaro-Yewa, and his wife; Chief (Mrs.) Adunni Onifade, Otun Iya Ewe of Ilaro-Yewa; Chief Idowu Onifade, Otunba Onimo-Ero of Ilaro-Yewa, and Yeye Otunba Onimo-Ero; Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Adewunmi, Yeye Oge of Ilaro-Yewa; Chief Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, Otun Baaroyin of Ilaro-Yewa, and some members of staff of the Olu Ilaro-in-Council.
The Olu Ilaro-in-Council’s participation underscored the deep cultural roots of the celebration, bridging the past with the present in a grand display of heritage.
