…Congratulates Gov. Abiodun For Successful Inauguration For His Second Term

AIYETORO-YEWA – The former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Suraj Adekunbi who is also the Aremo of Ayetoro has enjoined the Federal Government to empower communities to have their own security outfit as well as empower traditional Rulers as Chief Security Officer (CSO) in their localities towards ensuring true grassroots security and protection of lives and property across the country.
According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and online – www.startrendinternational.com by Lateef Akintunde, ZIO, YNLG, Aremo Adekunbi stated this in an interview with journalists during the 20th Coronation Anniversary of Alaye of Ayetoro, Oba AbdulAzeez Adelakun, Akinola ll held at Comprehensive High School Playing Ground, Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, recently.
Former Ogun Speaker, stated that, “it will be a great transformation if the government can allow Communities across the country to have their standing Community Security Outfit where the traditional ruler in each Communities will be the Chief Security Officer (CSO).
“This development will not only boost the security architecture of the states but also checkmate the unwarranted armed Robbery and killings being carried out by some lawless gang across the Country.
“I’m a supporter of Community Policing because l have seen people suffering due to inadequate security in their communities particularly on the border route to the Republic of Benin.
“I believe our royal fathers should be given a role in the provision of local security of lives and property of the people”.
Adekunbi further congratulated the Governor of Ogun State for his successful inauguration for the second term as governor of the state, commending him for his all round developmental projects across the state which greatly contributed to his resounding victory at the last general election in the state.
He also congratulated Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his successful inauguration as 16th president of Nigeria, praying that the Almighty will work with him, for sound health and wisdom to lead the country to its glorious destination
Also speaking, the Amona Oba of Ayetoro, Elder Kunle Amosun who spoke on behalf of Alaye of Ayetoro, appreciated the good people of the town for their sincere cooperation and support since Alaye ascended the throne two decades ago, enjoining the indigenous not to relent in promoting peaceful co-existence among the people particularly the diverse ethnic groups in the area and shun acrimony as well as unhealthy rivalry that can set the town on fire .
Highlight of the event was the conferment of various Chieftancy titles on notable indigenous of Ayetoro to include; Chief Adesola Adeyemi as Olu-nla, Chief Ahmed Sanusi as Ameto, Chief Kamorudeen Babalola as Bobajiroro,Chief Jimoh Faremi as Araba; Chief Sikiru Olaniyi as Bobakeye and Chief Rasaq Adeagbo as Okanlomo among others.
The royal fathers among other dignitaries present at the event were; Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Dr Kehinde Olugbenle; the Onijoun of Ijoun, Oba Gabriel Ogunji; the Obaladi of Afon, Oba Abdullateef Babade and the Onijale of Ijale Ketu, Oba Bisiriyu Oyero as well as the Iyaloja general of Ogun State, Alhaja Yemisi Abass among others.
