LISA TOWN – A call has gone to traditional rulers in Ogun State to be upright and proactive to enhance growth and development of their various communities.
The Chairman, Coalition of Youths in Ososun in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, Comrade Olumide Edunjobi made the call while decorating Oba Oladele Odugbemi with meritorious award during a courtesy call with his other executives to the monarch in his palace on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Comrade Edunjobi said that the recognition of the monarch with the meritorious award was as a result of his laudable contributions in the development of youth, children, women and his masses-oriented projects in his community which aimed at complementing efforts of the state government in transforming the State.
Comrade Edunjobi listed the valuable contributions of the monarch to include, Oladele Odugbemi Foundation where a lot of youths in the state have benefitted from his scholarship and grants to pursue their education and welfare programme for women and widows to take care of their homes and children.
Besides the scholarship to the youths, Comrade Edunjobi commended the monarch for his developmental projects in the community which have reduced the groans and sufferings of the people in his domain.
The youth leader stressed that Oba Odugbemi merited the award considering his developmental projects so far executed in Lisa Town which are aimed at ensuring peaceful coexistence of the people and creating an enabling environment for business to thrive in the interest of the people
Comrade Edunjobi urged other monarchs in the state to emulate the quality leadership of Oba Odugbemi in their various domains for the growth and development of the society and the state as a whole.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Oladele Odugbemi thanked the youth for the award while assuring them that it will spur him more to continue to develop his domain and put smiles on the faces of his subjects.
Oba Odugbemi charged the leaders of the youth to embark on massive campaign to sensitise the youths on danger inherent in hard drugs and cultism, appealing to them to shun those vices in the interest of their future and the country.
The Royal father admonished the youths on the need to complement the efforts of government in ensuring a better society devoid of crimes and criminality.
